Our Teaching Team
Elementary - Secondary
Mrs. Amanda, Middle School teacher
I have been passionate about educating young children for the past 20 years. In 2002, I earned my Early Childhood degree from Weber State University and my Utah state education license. I have taught every grade from preschool to 7th grade and I also direct Wasatch Christian School. I love seeing the light bulb turn on and that moment that a child grasps a new concept. My passions are teaching children to read, teaching mathematics, and most importantly about the Lord. I also enjoy planning and preparing hands on activities to keep my students learning and engaged. I consider it to be an honor and a blessing to be at WCS where I have the privilege to teach children about Jesus and His love for them. I have five beautiful, fun children and a wonderful husband that I enjoy exploring God's amazing creation with through a multitude of outdoor activities including traveling in the U.S and abroad.
Ms. Karissa, Middle School teacher
I have been at WCS for two years, along with my 4 year old and 10 year old children. I have really enjoyed teaching here and watching my students learn and grow. I am currently going to school for Elementary Education and have lived in Roy most of my life. I love hockey, math, and our two dogs.
Ms. Kaylie, 3rd-5th grade teacher
I have been working at Wasatch Christian for six years now and can’t picture myself working anywhere else. I have found a family here. I am going to school to earn my degree in Elementary Education. I am beyond excited for the opportunity to teach third through fifth grade this year. My goal is to make learning exciting for them. I don’t want them to think of school work as a chore or something they have to do. I want them to look forward to coming to school and be excited for what’s in store for them. I find joy in watching each child succeed.
Ms. Mandy, Kindergarten
I am the proud mom of two wonderful children ages 9 and 12. They are the light of my life! I started at Wasatch Christian School when I was looking for a career that allowed me more time and connection with my own children. I love working in a loving Christian environment. I am passionate about teaching about our Lord to the children here and mentoring our staff. I hold a Child Development Associate credential (CDA) and am working towards an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education at Weber State University. I look forward to meeting you and working with your family.
Mr. Arlo, Health and P.E
I have owned Competitive Edge Fitness for 15+ years, during which time I have worked with thousands of clients from soccer moms to professional athletes from a variety of sports. I specialize in strength and conditioning and sports massage for MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, volleyball, tactical athletes, and mountaineers. I have authored two books and have been the strength and conditioning consultant for the Ogden City Police Department for the past 5 years. Being able to offer to teach Health and PE classes at Wasatch is a great joy, as I hope to inspire these kids to glorify God as they lead healthy, active lives. Plus, I get to teach two of my five kids and get to know the students in the class.
Mrs. Holly, 1st-2nd grade teacher
My goal as a first and second grade teacher is to help students become life long learners. I enjoy teaching this age group because they have such bright and inquisitive minds.
I have had experience working in both public and charter schools, but love the environment here at WCS. The ability to pray in my classroom and help my students know that God loves them is so gratifying.
I have been married to my husband Craig for 30 years. We have four wonderful adult children and one granddaughter, that I adore.
I enjoy traveling, especially road trips, nature photography, reading and spending time with my family. At Weber State University I majored in Child and Family Studies with a focus on child development.
Mrs. Gale, 1st-2nd grade assistant
I am the proud wife of a wonderful man, mother of three adult children and grandma to four amazing grandchildren. As a military wife, I have enjoyed extensive travel both stateside and overseas. I'm grateful to be part of the staff as a teacher's aide. Ut is an honor to be able to participate, not only in the academic growth of the children, but also, in their personal growth with God. This is an exciting adventure that I truly look forward to each and everyday.
Mr. Cook, History teacher and school founder
I’m a visionary architect, developer, builder and the founder of Wasatch Christian School along with my wife Claudia. I have had a passion for Christian education for the last 30 plus years. We were also founders of Christian Heritage School in Riverdale, UT. I hold a masters degree in Architecture from Montana State University and have a variety of skills that fit well within the teaching environment. Most of all, I am a Christian that loves his Lord Jesus Christ.
On a personal level, my wife and I have 6 children and 12 grandchildren. My favorite pastimes are golfing, camping, hiking, skiing and fishing. (All of which are incredible when shared with kids and grandkids.)
I consider it an honor to be able to impart my knowledge into selected courses at Wasatch on a part time basis in the middle school program. There are few things in life more important than educating the next generation.
Mrs. Lavigne, Art
I taught in the public school system for 30 years and retired, but missed teaching and having students too much. So I joined the Wasatch Christian team and taught a variety of grades for 7 years. I love teaching here as I had the freedom to tell children about the Lord, teach Bible and pray with my students daily. I retired a couple years ago, but just couldn't stay away. I am now volunteering my time, teaching my passion, art, to the elementary and middle school children.
Ms. Kaylee, Infant/Toddler teacher
I've been working here for a year and a half. Infants and toddlers are my favorite age to work with and make smile. I am currently attending Weber State University and earning my degree in Environmental Science in hopes of studying the environment one day. For now, I work with the best children in the world and can't wait to meet more!
Ms. Rickey, Infant/Toddler teacher

Ms. Sonia, 3 year old preschool teacher
Our Assistant Teachers
I have always enjoyed working with toddlers and babies. As a teenager, I was the go to one for babysitting duty. I was just the calm one that could get any toddler to stop fussing. In my spare time, I enjoying hanging out with family and friends.
I am so excited to teach the three year old class at Wasatch Christian. I'm thrilled to see their blooming progress in all areas of development. Teaching the whole child is my professional goal because children are our beautiful present and our brilliant future. Children are a blessing from the Lord! I've had the honor of serving children for over 30 years, holding qualifications of F.C.G.P.C and D.C. with collage credits in Florida and have obtained my CDA in Utah. I have 2 wonderful daughters, Eunice and Damaris. Jesus is the center of our family. Children are a blessing from the hands of God!
I just graduated from high school a year early. I am currently working with the 2 year old class. I am so excited to make a difference in this world, through my art and God. There is so much art I have yet to make, and I love to share with my fellow friends.
I have been working with children for the past 10 years. I have worked with all different ages and I am still learning new things each day. I love to watch these young minds grow and experience the world. I have 2 children, Hannah and Thad.
I am an assistant teacher. Wasatch Christian School is the best with some of the greatest teachers to work with. I couldn't be more grateful to work with all the bright and loving children here. I love to watch them learn and grow and while doing so they teach me so many valuable lessons such as patience and courage. Every day excites me to see how far they have come.
I am 26 years old and live with my mom and dad and have one sister. I am currently attending Weber State University and will graduate in the fall of 2022. I love children and working with them. I love teaching the kids! They make me adore my job. In my spare time, I enjoy ceramics as I am very creative in what I create.
I work with the 2's and 3's and the aftercare children. I love getting down on the children's level and getting to know them and interact with them. I take pride in having patience and being able to understand your child's perspective on things. I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to watch these children learn and grow.
Out of School Time
I work in the Pre-kindergarten as well as in the aftercare program in the afternoon. I love this age as it is so much fun to learn with them and nurture a love for learning.
I chose Wasatch because I wanted a center where I can share my love for Christ with the children and help them learn more about His love.
In my free time, I love walking my puppy or going on road trips with my best friend.
